WWE Star Confirms Re-Signing with the Company Under Dual Roles

Lince Dorado is officially back with WWE—this time not just as an in-ring talent, but as a coach shaping the future of NXT.

After more than three years away, the masked star returned to the company at an NXT live event on January 17, 2025, in Citrus Springs, Florida. But as it turns out, his comeback was supposed to happen a lot sooner.

Speaking on 302BIRDS, Dorado confirmed that he’s signed with WWE as both a wrestler and a trainer. He also revealed that talks about a return had been in the works for over two years, but things didn’t materialize until now.

“I should have been here two years ago. I was actually in talks with them to come back two years ago, without giving too much information. I am back now, as of February. Technically, January, but February is when I started. As both a wrestler and a trainer. They’ve trusted me to train the next superstars of tomorrow at the highest point with WWE.”

Dorado expressed excitement over his dual role, crediting his past as a math teacher for his passion for coaching. He sees this as a natural evolution of his career, recognizing that wrestling isn’t forever and he wants to remain in the industry beyond his in-ring days.

“I’m very fortunate that I’ve found my calling. I used to be a math teacher, so teaching has always been in my blood. Teaching wrestling is something that I love. Realistically, I’m not going to wrestle forever, so I try to better myself and find a skill within wrestling that’s going to keep me in wrestling, whether that’s making gear, making masks, training people, or consulting.”

Dorado’s WWE career originally spanned five years, from 2016 to his release in November 2021. Since then, he’s been a staple on the independent scene, wrestling for AEW, NJPW, CMLL, and TNA Wrestling.

With his return now official, the question is—how will WWE use him moving forward? Will he become a full-time NXT competitor, or focus on his coaching role? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
