Chelsea Green Retains WWE Women’s US Title With Assistance During 3/18 NXT
You never know what can happen in NXT from week to week at this point. The March 18 episode of the show certainly contained some high points, and Chelsea Green gracing the NXT Arena with a Women’s United States Title match was certainly a treat.
Chelsea Green was on hand this week to take on Sol Ruca with the title on the line. Of course, Piper Niven and Alba Fyre were around as Green’s Secret Service backup. Sol Ruca had Zaria with her as well.
This match opened up NXT’s March 18 episode. Fans in the NXT Arena were more than ready after the big fight feel that Mike Rome gave the contest with his pre-match introductions.
Fans chanted “Chelsea for President” as the match started. Naturally, they were excited to see this match go down. Green and Ruca proceeded with their back-and-forth match while the chanting continued.
The two battled through a commercial break, and fans were even more invested in the match. The chants for Chelsea Green kept up as they cheered for their champion. Sol Ruca kept Green on the defensive for a while, but Chelsea never backed down.
Zaria was able to help maintain the distraction on the outside, with Sol Ruca being able to take out the Secret Service with a dive. After the distraction, Green tried for an Unprettier, but it was reversed; and then she was able to finally hit it to retain her title.
We will have to see what’s next for Chelsea Green, but she was certainly in rare for during NXT this week. Only time will tell how long she’s able to keep that title.
